    1978 GS550 Intake boots?

Hey guys! I need some help. I need some air intake boots and im not sure what the part numbers are or what they are actually even called. I need the rubber parts that connect to the carbs on both sides. Mine are hard and cracked. Where can i buy them? or should I just get air pods and get rid of the air box all together? BTW I have a 78 GS550.

here are some pics of what i think i need...

The intake pipe boots that attach to the head are available from Suzuki at your favorite dealer source. Partshark.com is one of the cheapest. http://www.partshark.com/fiche_selec...les&mfg=Suzuki The airbox boots are discontinued parts so I think the used market is the only option.

      You need:

      2 X 13110-47001 Right Intake Boots

      2 X 13120-47001 Left Hand Boots

These go between the head and carbs.

Ed is right the other rubber boots going between the carbs and air cleaner are not available new, they were never available. If you check the microfiche there was never a part number issued.

Also purchase a set of "O" rings for the 550 from Cyclerings, a member on this site.

so does that mean if i dont want to buy used ones, cuz they will probably be in the same condition as mine, i'll have to go to pods?

You might want to investigate using Kawasaki boots, the smaller bikes used VM22 carbs just like the early 550's. Other than something like this, or gambling on used, pods are the simplest option I think.

I may have the intake to carb boots you need. If you can measure the I.D. and O.D. and bolt hole spacing on your old boots. A fellow GSr sent me 4 that he thought would fit a 79 850 but they are to large and the mounting holes are offset from the throat. If these will fit yours I will happily send em along for the cost of shipping as I have no use for em and they are in great condition.
