How remove the tumblers from an ignition lock?

This is true. To get the plug out you only really need to depress the pin that is holding it in.

Push that down from the inside and the whole plug should slide out.

Technically that would be push on the opposite side of the projecting tab to get the pin to retract into the tumbler.

No.

find the hole, pull the rod out of the hole and pull the rod upwards .38mm (.015) then you can go ahead and depress the 'tumbler'.

the tumbler you need to push is directly above the hole.

here is a picture of the rod in the cylinder with the end of the rod sticking out of the hole on the right side. http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/545/img2428d.jpg/

the locking tab is the brass looking piece sticking out on the left side. note it is about .015 thou below the rod. (that tab is just above the hole you are feeling for when the cylinder in it's normal position)

Dale...make a video of taking it out of the cylinder and one once its out..showing how the retainer actually withdraws to allow the tumblers to slide out.

OK I'm just not getting anywhere with the popping it out with a wire so plan B going in.Drill out the roll pins.
