Anybody used a Vesrah gasket? (info needed)

Got a Vesrah valve cover gasket (from Z1) for '80 GS1000; one side is sort of shiny/coated and other side dull/uncoated. Question is: which side faces valve cover?... or does it matter? Thanks in advance!

Frank, just Gasgacinch glue it to the valve cover & put a LIGHT film of grease on the head mating surface & install it. You may get one or two uses out of it but if you did the same to a STOCK Suzuki gasket it would go on & off 4 or 5 times, at LEAST! Ray.

Thanks for the info, Ray. Next time I'll step up and order Suzuki gaskets.
Don't suppose Three Bond would sub for Gasgacinch, eh?

Don't use their pear shaped oil passage orings on the base...it'll end up leaking eventually if not rather quickly. I think that you can order those seperately OEM. Whatever they make the vesrah ones with doesn't do well with the heat or oil or both? They swell, push out of place and then leak...

Vesrah I have personally used and they've done ok minus those rubber bits.
Athena gaskets, the one kit I bought, went into the garbage shortly after it arrived when it became clear their QC is none existent. The stud holes in the base and head gaskets were all over the place and the gaskets simply wanted to buckle because of it...absolute $140 junk...

And sk8 if your bike is the 80 chain drive 1100L, dont think it uses those orings..
              Only the 8v bikes iirc.

If you are smart & want to save money by only having to do the job ONCE, you will use STOCK Suzuki gaskets. Ray.

Amen, brothers. First round with Vesrah gasket leaketh like a sieve. Thy shalt try again with Gasgacinch to oust thine oozing demon. Let us pray.

Chuck, what's painful is lacking the foresight to buy proper parts, and/or assuming i have the right stuff only to find out that i need more stuff to kinda make it right... or something like that.
