    GS1000 headlight cleaning??

i posted this here as its not actually an electrical issue.
what is the best way to clean and polish the reflector bowl in the headlight?
will the glass lens come off or do you just get a rag in through the bulb hole?
or maybe fill the bowl up with soapy water or something?
mines looking a bit grubby and looks like it could do with a shine up.

Dirty as in the lens is starting to get yellowish (no longer a crisp clear color)? This works well for that.

      You got it.
You might try a bent wire/coat hanger with a bit of cloth crimped on the end to help scrub a bit.
      Rince and dry with air.
Distilled water might help reduce spots.
Be gentle as the material may flake off.

I'd try glass cleaner poured into the capsule and swished around.

Once the bulb is removed the hole is big enough so you can stuff a rag inside and clean out the inside. As Dale mentions, Windex works well.

thats what i will try, swishing it out with warm soapy water, then wiggle around a soft cloth on the end of a bendy pokey stick.

Be very careful with what you use on the reflector. On I got with my 1000 had the shroud in front of the bulb loose.Took some of the mirroring off.Tried to clean it up and quickly stopped as I was removing more.Might be that the damage made that happen but I would still be cautious.
