    Secondary oil check issue

First I want to compliment those responsible for putting this forum together I have answered countless questions just by reading threw the feeds ...Ok now to the question. I have a 1981 gs1000g the genius i bought it from stripped 2 screws pretty good on the cover to check my secondary oil/ gear oil on the engine side... Has anyone found any good tricks or references inside that i can just peak threw the fill whole to make sure i have some kind of fluid? I plan on doing it the right way soon but something like getting these screws out takes time and patience.. At the moment i need to be able to ride my baby with peace of mind that i have some oil in there any input would be appreciated thanks

I'm unclear as to these "stripped screws on cover"- doesn't this secondary drive have a filler plug on top and a drain plug on bottom? Use a pencil/stick to gauge oil level in cavity. Or drain it all and refill with what manual says.
If this bike is new to you , better check lots of stuff if you intend to ride with "peace of mind".

Drill away the screw heads and slide the cover off.
