Using a chisel and smacking counterclockwise has only been successful in disfiguring the cap even more, not loosening anything. I have a replacement ready, from ebay for six bucks.

use a dremel to cut a small slot for a big assed screwdriver and she will come out..

i seriously think you need to pull the cover off and have a look inside before you do some damage to the cover. there is no way that cap should put up that much of a fight.
maybe it has been sealed on with jb weld or some serious loctite?????1978 GS1085.

I now see a part time hobby for myself in bonding oil caps with loctite.
Have Permatex will travel. These caps can be a bastard to remove without anything sealing them in place.
Its clear pliers of some sort were used the selected tool is what broke the thing.
Slot it then use a big assed screw driver.Last edited by Guest; 05-30-2013, 06:28 PM.
