This would be my absolute last resort. If the cover is off, drill a large enough hole in the cap, but not so large that it hits the threads, then break the remaining pieces out carefully with a small screwdriver/ hammer. I've done this on steel pipe nipples, so aluminum should break easily.sigpic

It has just barely gotten into the SECOND page.

Strangely enough, there is a chrome oil filler cap available for a Wing, as well as a chrome dipstick.
What's so strange about that, you ask? They are hidden under body panels and are not visible.

Yeah I saw a Silver wing cafe like this at a vintage bike cruise in last year.
I totally dig it. I like when the mechanical aspects of the bike really stand out.

Welp, an update for those interested.
I was able to remove the engine cover. With an axe. (as a wedge)
I took the cover to a local shop where a guy ran a torch over the cap, both sides, and after a minute the cap was able to unscrew.
Next up: change the oil, and then ride it to that shop to take care of the sheared header bolts."I have come to believe that all life is precious." -- Eastman, TWD6.4
