Next up... heat the bugger then hit it with a chisel. Or heat, let cool and smack it.

This would be my absolute last resort. If the cover is off, drill a large enough hole in the cap, but not so large that it hits the threads, then break the remaining pieces out carefully with a small screwdriver/ hammer. I've done this on steel pipe nipples, so aluminum should break easily.

That's going to take a while.

It has just barely gotten into the SECOND page.

That won't help much. My Honda has a plastic cap that gets just as stuck as a GS cap.

Strangely enough, there is a chrome oil filler cap available for a Wing, as well as a chrome dipstick.
What's so strange about that, you ask? They are hidden under body panels and are not visible.

Nah, that's one of the early four-cylinder Wings. It never even had the option of getting covered in the plastic that mine has.

You want a race Wing? Here ya go.

A supersport and wing had a baby! You can keep it, I don't want hot exhaust or a turbo anywhere near my upper extremities/skin.

Yeah I saw a Silver wing cafe like this at a vintage bike cruise in last year.
I totally dig it. I like when the mechanical aspects of the bike really stand out.

Welp, an update for those interested.
I was able to remove the engine cover. With an axe. (as a wedge)

I took the cover to a local shop where a guy ran a torch over the cap, both sides, and after a minute the cap was able to unscrew.

Next up: change the oil, and then ride it to that shop to take care of the sheared header bolts.
