Identify This Seat Pan?

didn't really expect this to be controversial. it is an aftermarket seat pan. i looked really closely at the sticker and it was made by a company called "smc acu-weld, inc." googled it and couldn't find much info. so that's why it doesn't have the ribs. everything else lines up for the skunk. even the studs for the plastic trim underneath.

i'm gonna remove the rivets, clean it up, paint it nice, find the necessary hardware and use it on something.2002 bmw r1150gs 1978 gs1000E skunk les pew 1979 gs1000L dragbike

This stuff from Home Depot will eat off the rust. Soak the pan for a few hours and you will be amazed. Works better than media blasting which has difficulty getting into the rust pits.

Any special treatment after soaking it?
Rinse (of course), polish, clear coat, ... ?
What does it to to chrome?
Looking at removing some rust from some chromed accessories, hoping maybe this might work.

exactly the same thing, can be achieved using molasses.....
9 parts of water with 1 part of molasses = phosphoric acid.
i use this all the time....its gentle and very cheap
