How about 4000 if you're in fifth gear.

I think i range from 3500-4500 on my 650g. Been a bit since i have been able to get it on the road

650 takes quite a bit of cranking on the highway, but it ain't like a 250, lol. The power band doesn't even kick in till 75-80mph(for 5th)...then hang on.
I prefer a 750cc or Up on the highway. Not calling the 650 under powered, but in my experience the large-liter bikes just got that extra grunt, and operating at slightly less Rpm's for cruising.
