    Thrust Bearings

I am looking for the thrust bearings (inner race, outer race, 18 balls) that hook your fork assembly to the frame of the bike. The only place I can find them is the dealer and they want 70 bucks for them. I can get the balls from a bearing shop but the races are a "special" suzuki race. It's not a standard race. Anyone know where I can find these without spending an arm and a leg?

    Try www.bikebandit.com.
They're usually cheaper than a dealer.

Consider replacing the ball bearings with tapered roller bearings. I just got a kit from Dennis Kirk for my 79 GS750LN. I think they cost me about $35 for the set.

The tapered bearings are much stronger and should never wear out. Definitely switch to tapered.
