I am tempted, but only from an experimentation point. They have me tempted, but I have yet to cut the check!
Just for the record, I have recently (last 6000 miles or so) started using syn in my bike, but I have no idea why. My personal experience is that it doesn't make my bike one bit quieter, nor does it make my already silk smooth shifting any better, nor does it change my service interval, nor does it improve my clutch action... you get the idea. Not saying one or the other is better, just can't notice a single improvement from a $10 oil change to a $40 one.

But that red Castrol GPS is pretty cool looking!

BART, i mean Hoomgar, reasons? hummmmmm, o.k.

how about when its warm its quieter (it's been 97-99 degs out lately), ALOT quieter, cold start up is quieter also, i can find neutral all the time now, shifts smoother, ALOT less klunky upon shifting gears, and it got better over the 1k miles i've used it.

amsoil 20w50 m/c oil. and it is the first synthetic i've used in any bike i've owned.

cost=ALOT, (though the amsoil dealer gave me 4 quarts free to try)
      piece of mind=PRICELESS

i will never go back to q-state 10w40 regular oil. though i may try synthetic rotella 5w40.

Hey no one can dispute your personal claims buddy. I would bet that your probably right on with what you see. I would also bet though that it is due to the age/excessive wear of your bikes internals and maybe a need for repair? I say that because I have seen bikes like Geoff's and the owners state the same as him. When if perfect mechanical condition, no noticeable change. Does that mean it isn't worth it? I'm not saying that. Just saying that even after your post, I'm not sold yet

            Hoomgar, we agree...
the clutch was not right when warmed up when i got it (could have been the oil the p.o. used), 10w40 didn't help (800 miles and dumped it) it was noisey when i got it, 15w40 rotella did help (2,500 miles) and 20w50 made it even better, i still hear cam chain noise cold and hot, and cam end float noise? until its warmed up and the one tappet shim that's at .08mm (needed an x shim didn't have it) it had 16,953 miles on it when i got it and it has 22k miles on it now, it still has the same leaks as before (minor) just thought to give my results and to me it's all i will use now. i use a full (ford) 10w30 synthetic in my 02 escort, but the price of amsoil sucks. i watch my pennies, repair or fabricate what i can and do without a lot of times, still the piece of mind is PRICELESS.
i've owned a 1969 wards riverside 125, 1975 cb750k, two h1 kaw's my 1978 cb750f and my gs850gz so i do have had something to compare to, i work on two race cars (freshen up the engines o/haul trans build all the 3rd members) worked as an auto mechanic and on fork lifts for a living so you know some of my back ground. not trying to sway you, just again my .02
