    Shim tool

Have been looking at cam/valve shim removal tools (for pressing down the valve). I find two different Motion Pro catalog numbers from different suppliers. Part numbers 080017 or 15-0430, both say are for Suzuki, one list GS550/750/850, other one list GS750/850/1000. Neither listed GS1100G.

-Are the cams/buckets that different between GS550/750/850/1000/1100 that need different tool? Am looking to use on GK. I suspect maybe the line in the catalog just didnt have enought characters to list all. But...?

-In addition to Motion Pro I have found other brand also. Some are $18 and others are $35, what should I think?

Had 850G for 14 years. Now have GK since 2005.

      I found this at http://www.crc2onlinecatalog.com/tools.htm.
FYI, I have a tool here in my hand that's stamped "09916-64510". I assume it's the original Suzuki number. It works on the '80 850G I have now, and also the '82 450GS (or was it a GL?) I had years ago.

        Redman,

There should be no difference in the 2-valve motors and how the shim tool presses down the bucket. I used one from a friend who bought his for a 90-something GS500E. I used it on my 78 750 and my 82 1100G.
