NEED QUICK HELP 82(?) gs1100l gas in oil, other problems?

chance to buy a gs1100l, not sure what year. looks like it came off showroom floor. sitting at a repair shop (harley repair shop) . shop says valves are stuck. these are symptons as told to me. gas in oil, blows fuel out exhaust(?),
carbs were rebuilt, gas seems to overflow out carbs when running(?), head never pulled to determine if valves stuck. told owner will possibly take 200-300 for bike. sound like a bad petcock? bike is in great shape. any help appreciated.

I wouldn't hesitate to pay $200-300 for it. The only year the 1100L was chain driven was 1980, so if it is shaft drive it is newer. I doubt the valves are all stuck unless it's been sitting out in the weather with spark plugs out, exhaust disconnected and carbs removed. Probably a stuck needle seat valve in a carb or maybe as simple as the fuel line being connected to the vacuum port. Good luck!
oh yeah maybe a bad petcock.

        more info

found out bike has set for 2 years, garaged, and owner had problems when trying to make it run. told me now he has to have 500 for it. it is a shaft drive. i suspect the petcock or carbs now. now who or what do i rob for 500 dollars?

Grab the bike if you can..sounds to me like the carbs may just need cleaning (stuck needle and seat of maladjusted floats, which would cause way to much gas to enter the combustion chamber , which will get by you rings and into the oil, and depending on how long they cranked or ran it to try and find the problem.....)or as said above if the petcock isn't shutting off, that may be a problem.

I don't quite understand...is the engine seized up? Take it easy here, if he jumped the price $300 on you, you can bet if you're eager or excited the price will jump again. $500 is a lot of bucks for a bike you have to stick another 2500 in to get right.

found out more. engine is not froze. owes the repair shop $350. the repair shop does not really want to mess with the bike, they work on harleys. still sitting at repair shop. the owner is the one who called me about bike. (did some work for owner with my horsedrawn carriage) gonna play it from here. i'm trying to see if i can check bike out more by myself and see exactly what the issues are.

Don't forget you will undoubtedly have to buy a battery, tires and possibly tubes and deal with any leaking seals. At least a chain and sprockets can be scratched off the list. But you'll need to check out the final drive/wheel splines. Just be careful is what I'm saying. Sometimes it's cheaper in the long run to spend more on a running bike. ( I won't tell you about the two grand I stuffed into a $100 'classic' Honda. It was fun in a kind of strange way tho'. And I did ride the old'73 CB-450 for almost 25,000 miles. )
