    Side Stand Switch Mount

I just purchased a side stand switch for my 82 GS1100GL and don't see how to fasten it to the kick stand base. Is the some sort of a mount that fastens it? If so does any one have a picture of one? Also where does the switches spring attach to?

I saw the base where a switch should be mounted on my 850 and realized that the switch was missing. Have purchased a switch, mow need to wire it in. If you would like pictures, let me know, I will take some and send them to you.

I'm sorry but I'm missing the point of replacing the switch. That was one of the first things I took off my bikes when I got them.

Thanks for the offer Steve. Yes, I would like pictures. On my kick stand base there are two round holes and a square hole. I purchased the switch off ebay but it looks like there must be a bracket to mount the switch to the kickstand base. I don't know how to mount it to the base.

Don, I have the light on my speedometer for the kickstand warning and just wanted to make everything work again as original.

Completely understandable. There seems to be two trains of thought about these old bikes. One is to keep them as OEM as possible and the other is to mod them to the limit. I respect each side, although I lean toward the modifications myself.

Not hijacking the thread here, but I like the OEM look blended with "Tasteful" mods and enhancements especially functional stuff .....I need to get my kickstand switch working myself.

I agree with you both. I liked to have all the OEM stuff working first then I can feel comfortable making modifications. I currently have the 4 into 1 exhaust and would like to eventually add driving lights. First I need to figure out how to mount the kickstand switch though.
