      Hi Mr. kevinwcarr,

Fram filters have a reputation for being made really cheaply. But, like your oil, if you change it often enough, it doesn't really matter what you use. Personally, I buy the HiFlo Filtro (HF133) from Bike Bandit in lots of 5 or 10 (saves on shipping). See the oil change guide on my site for other brands/part numbers.

      Thank you for your indulgence,

      BassCliff

The Fram filters are some of the very WORST made you can get. They sell LOTS because they ADVERTISE lots! Even when Vance & Hines was PAID by Fram & doing their commercials back in the early 80s, Byron used STOCK Suzuki filters. Take it for what your engine is worth! Ray.

It's great that you believe that strongly in a filter.

A part number would be appreciated by other members.

I will not use a Fram filter. Anthing else in a pinch, but not a Fram. I buy Hi Flo filters in quantity.

Normal filter paper, and a decent amount of it.
yours doesn't have paper end caps, so no worries there. spin on filter i'd think twice about it.

there are better filters out there, but should you stay away? no....

That isn't a "study". It's an examination by some guy who bought a few filters. A study would have tested filtering ability. I've read lots of nasty comments about Fram filters, but not one of them has any real information about longevity or filtering ability.

might you be confusing study with testing?

I don't use fram filters on my car, but I kind of like them on the bike. Mainly because they're cheap and they give you new o-rings

Lately, the HiFlo HF133 I've been getting from BikeBandit has both o-rings included, for 3 bolt and 4 bolt covers.
