Headlight question
Hello all. I have just purchased my first Suzuki. It's a 79 GS850. She needs some attention but it seems all the right parts are there. Someone put a Vetter fairing on it and I want to ditch that and put the stock headlight back in. Someone on Ebay is selling one for $27 but it is just the light alone. The thing I don't know is if I am missing any important brackets on the bike to mount it. I've been trying to find a bike around town to look at with not luck. Does anyone have a detailed photo I can look at?Rob

the 79 gs850g used a sealed beam headlight, 1980 used a halogen light with a separate bulb and has a much better light patten and output. I would suggest using the halogen light setup.
please check the gallery as suggested and the various parts look up sites to see what may interchange between 79 and 80.

update
'just an update. I bought a light from the local wrecker and it worked out great. It is still the 7 1/4" round but it has the newer halogen replaceable bulb. The only thing missing was the bolts but I managed to sort out a great solution at the local hardware store. The bike looks a lot better without the fairing. Thanks again for the help.Last edited by azr; 08-01-2008, 03:09 AM.Rob
