Carbs working great!!!!
Hey everyone I got my bike back from the guy that was doing my carbs for me and it runs great.. he told me that he can hear the timing chain slaps when it gets revved up is that somthing I can do on my own... I am pretty good with tools and figuring stuff out I just wanted the opinion from someone that has maybe done it. And he told me that my fork seals are leaking how big of a job is that?? If anyone can help me out it would be greatly appreciated, I think I am ready to dive into some of this stuff on my own... Thanks for your help..Tags: None

you might investigate the chain tensioner.
if it is an automatic tensioner, http://www.bwringer.com/gs/camchaintens.html

These motors tend to develop some sideplay on the camshafts. If you have the valve cover off try and slide the camsafts sideways and if you hear a knock that will likely be the noise.
There is a thread on how to have some "thrust half moons" machined into the upper cam bearing caps to take up this play and silence the noise.
Apparently some riders have had the noise for years and it is more of an irritation than actually causing problems.
On the other hand it may be your chain, but you could measure it as per the manual and the cam chain tensioner is easy to replace so I would really look at that first and follow bwringers excellent tutorial and change the seals and o-rings at the same time while it is out.
