Oil Pumping on the Ground
I have an 83 GS1100GL that will pump oil on the ground occasionally. When I say pumping oil I mean pumping lots of oil. It has done it three times so far with months in between pumpings. The oil level is not overfilled. I have changed the oil after each pumping hoping I would find the problem, and have not. It is coming from underneath the motor by where the factory crossover tube for the exhaust is. I have not pinpointed it yet and was wondering what to look for. Is this common? My Kaw 900 has never done anything like this in 25 years so I am at a loss. It seems to do it when idleing on the sidestand. Any suggestions on what to look for?Tags: None

This pumping would make the Harley boys laugh. It seems to be an overflow by the volume that comes out. I am talking quarts of oil so a gasket could be ruled out. The only way to stop it is kill the engine and wait a minute and start it again. It seems like it is gonna pump every drop of oil on the ground if I don't catch it first and hit the kill switch. The only thing that is the same on all occasions is the bike is on the side stand and not straight up.

Yes I did a search and found a few things but nothing like this. The oil is not dripping it is pumping.
