at what year and style did they start using the glass to the blade style fuses? i just got an 82 i think (no title) gs1100 and it has the blade type fuses and my daily rider the 82 gs850 has the glass type fuses just curious is all i am doing the engine swap and didnt want anything to interfear with the swap by having the wrong year

Fuses won't interfere with an engine swap. Get busy.

lol i am i am jesh!!!!!! lol does the exhaust headers match up between the two? the 1100 has 4 into one i know the carbs are a different size they are dipping at the moment right now

I would guess the cylinder spacing is going to be different on these two engines.

Make sure you move over the footpegs too, they might be necessary for the sway.

People performing the 1100E engine in a 750 chassis swap have to use the 1100 engine mounting brackets. Something to keep in mind when installing that 1100G engine in the 850 chassis.

MIne is an 82 with blade type fuses.
But NO way its original..

might it be that the 1982-up G's have blade style fuses and the GL's don't?

Interesting. I just did a quick search at Alpha's site and found that the 850G had blades, but the 850GL had glass fuses.
The 750s, 1000s and 1100s all had blades, the 650s and smaller had glass.

yea steve my 850 has glass and the 1100 i just got yesterday has blade
