    U.F.O.s...

anyone have any experience/input on ufo's(ultimate fuel optimizers)?
carb inserts for round slide carbs.put out by starting line products.
theyre supposed to eliminate turbulence in the carb by redirecting potential turbulent air (caused by air hitting the forward edge of the slide)into the carb more smoothly.thus increasing power and economy.

No, no, no. You need the $29.99 turbo fan. It really works, or they could not say so.
But seriously, no. While it is true that some turbulence is created during the intake cycle of the engine, one would have to custom design such a device for each specific engine in order to find a substantive horsepower increase. Your dollars would be better spent in other areas. Just my $$ worth.

UFOs are a good upgrade in round slide mikunis. They simplely smooth out the bottom of the throttle slide- eliminating the irregular shape of the bottom of the slide.
You will gain throttle response and midrange power, probly some topend too. The low and midrange fuel circuits will need to be rejetted (leaned out).
I have used them on my race snowmobiles. UFOs will make round slide (VM) mikunis perform almost as well as most flatslides.
These are worth the money if they are setup properly.

                    gosh...

i thought that was what this site was for.seems less and less so as i go along.
and the inquiry was for experience related input.ill try to be more succinct in the future to avoid any confusion.
but you know what they say.opinions...
experience however usually proves more valuable.
dont worry...i havent given up hope on ya'll yet.

Upon seeing that it was good, he went out again on his ZX14! But just a little bit faster!

snake oil... gotta believe me i'm from michigan.
try it and find out for yourself then let us unbelievers know your results, but be prepared to document your results fuel mileage, h.p. gains, drivability, cold starting ect. at least we have and open mind (must be open mine has a hole it it) to all things.

                              still gettin some...

more info dale.seem to be hearing mixed results.a big concern is how theyll work in a four stroke.everything ive heard is from two stroke snowmobiles.
not sure how much difference it makes.my next question will be...29mm flat slides...from what machine should they come to fit a 78 gs1000?is the spread
fairly consistant throughout the suzuki gs/gsx/gsxr lineup?
                              here we go again?...just kiddin
