    My 88 ci

New C P Pistons - (thanks ray) and freshly honed cylinders.

soon to be a 13-1 bracket racing engine. machine shop only took 16 days to get it out. My newly ported 1150 head for this engine is done, I just need to drive down to the quad cities and pick it up.

looking like the numbers are indicating it will be in the neighborhood of 190 h.p. and redline just under 9K -- Torque monster.

          more pictures next week.

picking up the head Saturday. Klemme took a stock GS1150 head from 75 CFM all the way to 95 CFM@ 0.400" !! That is over 30% increase in total flow!! Port velocity is going to be off the charts so crazy that my new redline may not be over 8K RPM. Low end is going be incredible. I did not mill it - yet....because going over 15-1 is not really what I want with this engine.

My next engine is going to be a GSXR head on a mack GS big bore KILLER! hint hint - ray. I'm starting a special savings jar for it now.My pro bike frame will not fit a taller engine assy so I have a different frame that I'm raking and just bought a extended swing arm off of e bay. Street type classes are in my sights for late this year.head light, tail light, no bars, D.O.T. tires, 68" W.B., and a clutch lever - those hyabusa dorks don't have a chance in a 8:90 index class.

and we'll be at the track as soon as MR. SUN gets on the job and brings summer back to us.

Patience, son. Spring just started a couple of days ago, so summer is still three months away.

it is very difficult to take close up picures of a cyl head.

sorry, but it is very beautiful.

are those stock 1150 valves? If you put the camera into macro mode it should work with the pics.

P.S. what is your cats name? I have one that looks just like her (Midnight) , but she did not like what I feed here so she moved over to the across the street neighbor. She is getting spoiled over there now

am working on much better pictures without removing the valves

28.5 intakes stock exhaust 1150 from a weird trade deal.

remember if you buy lash caps you do NOT need extended adjusting doo hickeys.

frankie-flav. , frankie - fats , frankie tickle-nuts , or just Franklin born around new year 2005 I call him my cat dog. , if I ever get him to Hiss like a bad cat on command I'm moving back to Hollywood.

and if your dog ain't as big as my cat - it ain't a real dog

                        I look it like this;
20 pounds of fighting cat flesh is as bad as 180 pounds of scared dog.
Massive saber tooth cats ate humans , dogs scavenged from the remains of both.

                        more motor build soon.

                              got some progress this week

got the pistons and cylinders finished- ring gaps set
.016 top .019 2nd and no less than .015 bottom ring.
                              piston - cylinder is .003

now the 2 thousandth of an inch question...
Hmmm... how safe do we want to be??? 3-8-or-18. hmmm.
                              compression compression compression.

I have approximately .005" positive deck. that is the pistons are above the surface to begin with. The crank and rods strech about 0.040" at redline so just a .043" head gasket is not enough. I'd like to run without a base gasket but that is not going to be possible. the fact simply put is that 45 sling and only 43 clearance is a smacker, both in the water box and at the stripe. . base gaskets come in .005",.010",.020".

I have a .020 gasket which will give the lowest compression .. until I actually measure the combustion chamber for the assembled volume I am just guessing with these numbers safe and slow? not exact numbers here but close estimates (my formulas have a little extra on the safe side).

                              0.020" base gasket estimates
                              17cc chamber 14.97-1
                              20cc chamber 13.52-1
                              25cc chamber 11.67-1

                              0.010" estimates
                              17cc-15.78-1
                              20cc-14.16-1
                              25cc-12.13-1

                              0.005" estimates
                              17cc-16.21-1
                              20cc-14.51-1
                              25cc-12.38-1
