    Flatslide Carbs

I have a 79 Gs 750E with a 4 into 1 and pod airfilters. I was wondering if a set of 34mm flatslides would help liven up my bike or if they are too big. Also if they will pretty much bolt right on or not.

To big. A set of 29 mm smoothbores would be about right.

You'll have to change to an 80 or newer 850 cylinder head. The biggest bolt on carbs for the stock 79 head are 29mm mikuni smoothbores. I'd think about an 850 kit to go with the flatslides- that's a lot of carb for a 2 valve 750.

I look in the 2 valve GS & early Kawasaki (Z1, KZ900) sections of E-bay.
GSXRs are too new! Good luck looking.
