hahaha, I know what you mean Chuck, I did indeed peer around all over inside to check that all the loose crud was out, and that all the stuff stuck to the tank was knocked off, it is all good, but yes, thanks for the pointer, it is something that can be easily overlooked. Lucky I am OCD about these things.

A litre of lacquer thinner might be a good thing just to ensure all the crud is removed.

I agree with the lacquer thinner idea.

Wilco Doc, damn, I thought I was well on my way to laying paint..... oh well.
Ja I will see if builders warehouse is open tomorrow morning and get some, have to get paint stripper anyway, the stuff I have wouldn't take the nail varnish off a chick's nails.
I want the stuff that leaves a nuclear fall out in its wake.

Today was spent on various odds and ends including sprucing up tank emblems.
            Sorry, pics are not great.

            Before and after

Because you cant put scruffy emblems on a pretty tank.

Goodie.... Looks like we're getting close to seeing the body work on the bike. I like the paint scheme you've chosen.....

Thanks Garth, it is the original paint scheme that she came out the factory with, and it is kind of unique, I don't see many in this original colour scheme any more, which will hopefully make it stand out.
All paint is now done.....almost, so just for you I will pull her out this weekend, give her a good clean and mock up all the clothes on her and take a pic or two.

Doc, relax, still a way to go yet, the tank still needs to be wet sanded, another three coats of clear and wet sanded again and polished, the front mud guard and fairing also need to be wet sanded and polished, maybe another three coats of clear on the fairing too, will see after the wet sanding.

The whole rear end has to come out again as well, because I can't get the rubber boot between the engine and swing arm onto the swing arm and secured with it in place, so plan is to drop out the rear end, fit the boot to the swing arm and push it back into place, then secure the boot to the engine.
Still hoping my side cover emblems turn up somewhere.

After two years I've given up hope.

Might have a so-so set you can rehabilitate.

Can't relax. Gotta get a few projects done and the weather isn't co-operating.

Don't worry Doc, it will be 100 in the shade before you know it, Oshkosh only 12 weeks away.
