      depends on your budget, I could get them for you, and ship to you ? Only reason I went with this place is they are not cheap bearings, quality wise, I think they were same as original, I would have to look at the invoice again, so they should last another 30 years....

            Fixed the H4 headlight I got from Rob.The shield was loose and 1 tab was broken,soldered a wire in to the tab and got it all back
            together.Frustrating fiddly work but I saved a good Hella light!

            Then I looked at this,said "This won't do".

            So I plastic welded the indents then filed and sanded off the excess.The wet sanded the whole thing with 400 wet & dry.

            And painted it up.Not 100% but much better.

                Borrowed these from Rob(azr) so when I get that far I can make her a "roller".Said they where giving me ideas.

                Been working on these the last few days to.

                Got the last bit for these to.Needed the MC pivot bolt.

                  My steering head bearings are on order from Z1,be a bit before they get here.So I have decided to tackle the body work.Should probably be sure which way I'm going http://www.thegsresources.com/_forum...d.php?t=188455 but I'm not quite sure yet. Did find out that the seat trim is ABS http://www.thegsresources.com/_forum...d.php?t=189654 so that is a "easy" fix.
                  I forgot,went through the wiring with contact cleaner.I couldn't find the dielectric grease,rummaged though some of my stuff and found it.So I went though and put that on to and retaped the bits that needed it.
                  Jut brought the tailpiece,the tool holder is pop riveted in!What to do?Drill them out or leave it be?.Bah,out to do some drilling.

                    Greg,

                    May I impose on you more than just a bit? If you find time, would you mind removing the brake and clutch levers and snap a pic of both sides of them? I'm trying to use the same coloured levers on my 1K.

                      The tool kit holder in the rear cowl originally had welded on studs that slipped tru the plastic pan with washers and nuts on the bottom. Yopu could drill the rivets out for ease or cleaning and redoing the inside of the compartment. Then just some shorty bolts to reinstall it. If youd like i cann take a tour of my boxes of goddies and see if i have an OEM one that can be sanded and repainted..do you have the rubber fastening strap???

                      I would rather trust my bike to a "QUACK" that KNOWS how to fix it rather than a book worm that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix it.

                        Can do Dale but I'm using a perch off the 79 400.Has the clutch interlock thing on it,I took the guts out to use it on the 78.Could cut the slotted bit off and fit it to a 78 perch but this is easier for me.Have the 78 lever and can do that comparison pic if you like.

                          This one is OK,just would be easier to do stuff to it without the box in there.Have a 83 750 tool strap kicking around so I think I got it covered.

                            That would be perfect. I sent my clutch lever off to someone that needed it and because of that, I don't have an original one to compare a new lever to. The brake lever I still have on hand, so a picture of it isn't as necessary as the one for the clutch lever.

                              Dale FYI...I had bought a new one from the dealer for the first skunk and it was a dead on match for the old ( but bent downward) original..You shouldnt have taken yours off and sent it to me. Had i known that was what you were doing I would have strongly refused to accept it. And the OEMs were plain aluminum and not black. If youre gonna go with them blackened I would get them anodized black and not painted. Hands and gloves will wear paint off rather quickly I would think.

                                Actually Chuck, I had no intent on using those original levers, so there is no need to think I shouldn't have sent it to you. In fact you can have the brake lever after I'm done with it as well, if you could use it. My plan is to use the same levers that are on my '82 and thankfully, the finish has held up on the very well. That's probably one of the only things that are going to be non stock on my '78.
