A skunk in the works

I will get the package in order some time next week..in between whatever projects hit the shop. I took today just to do the caliper and work the last few things out on my skunk project. I am gonna take some pics of it tomorrow after i get the side covers done and on the bike. I put in a 12 1/2hr day and even went and did my first repo on a truck for a guy. Had a pretty interesting day!!

Sounds like it was Chuck.Watching yours with interest.Whenever you can is fine by me.Done way more than I expected already.Just have to say thank you again.
Was looking at the rear shocks after reading a article someone posted from a classics site.They are OEM.Have the damping adjusters under the rubber boot things.Anyway to rebuild them? Be to cool to keep what must be one of the first adjustable damper shocks on this bike.

Dont know about rebuilding shocks I know how to disassembele them to clean all the parts though. I made spring compresser out of an old rusty manual bottle corker..will post pics of the bike and spring compresser later.

I have the same exact fairing..dont know who made it but its still in the plastic wrappers..may sell if the right person wants it.

What about mounting kits..still available??

Original mounts are just sheet metal that forks though the headlight bolts.Plan on doing something better with this one but had no problems with the one I had before.
Edit.Actual answer is I don't know.

I'm not sure does Martek make the Dyna? I think so buy I could be wrong.





Got some wok to do.Got to remember this is my winter project.Want to dig in right now.Think I just disassemble it and enjoy Old Yeller then get on it in the fall.

That Martek and Dyna are not related. I had one in my GS750B along with a header made by R.C. Engineering. The Martek worked quite well. It's waterproof and nearly indestructible. The only drawback was that it wasn't very tunable other than static advance.

Oh abd slotted iscs..if i recall..were actually stock on the E models.

The parts fiche at bike bandit doesnt show them as slotted, but i see them on the 1000s very very often.

If I remember correctly, slotted disks appeared in the 1980 model year.

They have a embossed ones for more $.Thinking I'd like the cleaner look though.Might get one for Old Yeller to.Anybody dealt with these guys?
