I wonder if I should reset the mileage on mine to 00000.8, re-paint the white and list them on Ebay? think I could make a killing?

You may well get half that, besides you still have a few parts, perhaps enough to make up another one.

Steve, I have enough pieces parts left to make two sets! it's too bad the gauge faces are faded or I might just do it.

Very nice resto on those gauges, Dale. I'm inspired, and may get up the courage to do mine some day.

Stan, we've seen what you can do, you aren't fooling anybody with that statement.

Three of these are for the front side of the gauges. they cleaned up real nice. I'm not sure if I'm going to use the case emblem Chuck sent me, or rehab the old one.

Take your time and use some laquer thinner..very very sparingly on a Qtip and remove the gold overspray. Use "just enough" that it breaks down the coating. Will take several wipes on the same letter to get it to the silver, but im sure youll be able to do it.

Sure wish it would warm up soon!

While I was at work today, I decided to polish up the surface on the Iwata I bought as I noticed a little bit of air leakage between the surface the air cap and fluid nozzle seals against. with the surface polished properly (1K crocus cloth), the gun's fan is 13" wide held 6" away from the surface, 12" wide @ 5" and a screaming 8" wide held 4" away and at 19 psi. simply amazing! I had to choke it down a bit so I could shoot the electrics panel, license plate bracket and gauge bracket after I got off work. painted them with a DTM* primer and Black SSU**. Seems a shame to make it so shiny when 90% of the bracket remains hidden. but, either go big or go home

Greg, with a 13" fan I can do two or three brackets with one pass...

dry fitting to make sure everything will match up correctly. I had to tweak the chrome covers so they would retain the gasket properly. now all that's left is scrounge up the small washer that's missing, clean up the harness and paint the white letters then I can finish assembling them.
