Stan, after seeing Larry (nvr2old), Ed and Andre's work (among others), I'm absolutely positive the bar can't be raised any higher than it already had been set. all I can do is hope it comes close.

Hi Pete, ya it quite disheartening, I look at these wonderful creations taking shape, and realize that despite all the long hours of hard work, being meticulous to a fault and and painstaking attention to detail (seems to me anyway) to put together a bike that is going to be as perfect as you can get and an example of what a pristine bike looks like, (To me anyway) is going to look like nothing more than a daily driver compared to what Dale and Ed and some of the other boys put out there.
But it is there work that keeps me inspired.

Larry isnt going anywhere till he gets my second skunk and the 78 1000C tank i sent done..after that hes fair game!! And Stan..We havent gotten close as friends, but we do kinda know each other from here. I am confident youll do a superb job with your bike. Theres lots of different tastes and "looks" that people, like. So long as your fits your taste and vision it will be perfect.MY BIKES..1977 GS 750 B, 1978 GS 1000 C (X2)
1978 GS 1000 E, 1979 GS 1000 S, 1973 Yamaha TX 750, 1977 Kawasaki KZ 650B1, 1975 Honda GL1000 Goldwing, 1983 CB 650SC Nighthawk, 1972 Honda CB 350K4, 74 Honda CB550
NEVER SNEAK UP ON A SLEEPING DOG..NOT EVEN YOUR OWN.
I would rather trust my bike to a "QUACK" that KNOWS how to fix it rather than a book worm that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix it.

Pete, I've more sand blasting to do before I can update this thread. I will let you in on a little advance notice, I'm sectioning two or three petrol (fuel) tank floats to make one good one out of them.... wish me luck!

Dale..Just a thought. I used Chandlers paint scenario on skunk number one. Only thing is the "new cast aluminum" looks a bit OFF to me. By that i mean it has a bit of a duller tinge than the Universal aluminum. In any case for skunk 2 its gonna be the much brighter and silvery universal on the entire engine and tranny. I have even considered pulling the engine again and removing it from the tranny and cases and repainting it. It passes but its not right.MY BIKES..1977 GS 750 B, 1978 GS 1000 C (X2)
