Basket Case 850 - What's it worth ?

Considering picking up a 95% present basket case to allow me refurb my carbs, wiring and braking system by transplant without stopping riding and eventually build a second bike. Any thoughts or comments on how to check out motor and shaft or do you just lowball it till it doesn't matter ? What percentage of a running bike do baskets go for?

Lowball. $100 or maybe two if it looks really nice. No title, no key? Talk him down a little more. The engines mostly are still useable, it's a GS after all, and 850's don't comonly get abused too badly. Some are really leaky, most have valve clearance issues, but that stuff is easy to fix.

If it were in the US I'd agree agree with Tom, but I don't know the market in Ireland.
