    Complete Restoration Project 82 GS550

    Hello everyone!
So I bought an 82 GS550 ... but it was only the frame and engine on wheels, nothing else. Also the bike sat for a few years. I love vehicle projects but this is my first motorcycle project and it seems like a big one. Does anyone have any tips on where to start? How do I know if the engine is healthy enough to even try this? Any information would be amazing!
    Thanks

From your description that bike is too far gone to restore. You would be better off looking for a better candidate. It will be far cheaper in the long run. They are not impossible to find, just takes a little time.

In the meantime, network here and start metasearching Craigslist.

Thank you for the website, and also for the advice. I guess it would be rather expensive to buy literally everything else
