where to find Wes cooley pictures

I have been searching on the web and this forum for large pictures of the blue /white Wes Cooley race bike but no luck just low resolution pictures. Does any one have any pictures to share?? or info on the bike. I would like to do a a replica of some sort and it would be nice to see some larger pics for inspiration

keep searching, they are there. i doubt you will get too much info on the specs though. certainly not internal engine specs. most cooley replicas are built from visuals rather then real specs.

saw that while back but its geared more on the red gs although pretty sure some of it got passed to the blue/white model. Do you know if he raced the blue/white in 80 or 81?

Just goggle variations of Wes Cooley, I put in Wes Cooley GS1000 and came up with a bunch of photo's, go to images, then click on the pictures you want.
                I liked this one myself.

Are those Lockheed brakes? They look kind of like them. ARP makes them now I think.

kinda looks like it but hard to tell. That is why Im looking for close up pictures of the actual bike. The closest pics I found is off a scale model

it says in the article i linked to in post #6, which clearly says, lockheed calipers and master cylinder

                          The front brake master cylinder
                          and calipers are Lockheed. Braided
stainless steel lines from Earl's Supply
                          are 1/4-in. outside diameter. Front
brake discs are Suzuki, drilled for
lightness and to reduce warpage. The
                          Yoshimuras used plasma-sprayed
aluminum discs early in the season, but
                          found that the discs warped.

interestingly the rear caliper is a fully floating set up, with the torque arm attached to the frame, not the swingarm.

im pretty sure they would be 18 inch most slicks back then were 18
most likely 2.5 front 3.5 or 4 inch rear

                              ozman

                              ok done some research
                              rear was a wm6 (3.5")
                              The Yoshimuras installed a
                              Suzuki five spoke WM-6 magnesium
rear wheel originally made for Barry
                              Sheene's Suzuki RG500.
                              and they found
                              Tsubaki #630 drive chain wouldn't
clear the rear tire (a Goodyear D 1997
3.75- 18 slick), so the left edge of the
tire had to be trimmed slightly with a
                              razor blade.
                              front a wm4(2.5") x 19
The WM-4 19-in. front wheel is
cast in magnesium by Morris and
                              carries a Goodyear 3.25-19 slick.

                              info is all here
