Yes a Triton, owned by one of my uncles, then two Matchless (either G80 or G3) owned by my granddad, upstairs there is a dozen or so old mopeds from the fifties and sixties.

    Cool stuff ")

by the looks of it, you won't be hurting for something to ride while you get this thing together.

No thats not a real problem around here , although I had some trouble with a lockwire on one of the valves of my Ducati M900, It had broken into pieces and I couldn't get a new part that day so I had to resort to one of the old mopeds owned by my grandad.
Old mopes is a family thing I have lots of uncles that have one or more and my grandad has a collection, I have owned a couple of the too in the past, It's so much fun, we attend yearly rides and you know everybody it's cool, probably something you will never see in the USA
I heard that during the 50/60/70 the amount of mopeds sold in the netherlands, Belgium and Germany was more then in the rest of the whole world!, today I think India and China might have reversed that.

Anyway, I started working on my project again, I bought a set of 4 pot calipers including steel braided lines and a master pump.
Also my Hayabusa front rim came in today, I picked up the box and thought there was nothing in it!
The SV650 rear wheel came in a couple of weeks ago, I just need to get my lathe running to make the axle holders, I finally found parts for the old lathe so that will happen soon.
I bought brand new brake discs from Ebay, I chose the waved version, call me crazy!
Swapped the GS450 steering stem into the GSXR aluminum lower triple plate, I will use it for testing and geometry setup but I will make a lighter one in the future
I have just realized I might have a problem with the camchain, the GR650 sprockets are different then the GS400/450 sprockets, the chain might not match with the both of them!

Picture will be here very soon

This cool Katana is sitting in my workshop at this moment, I need to fix it for a customer, it was running bad and he "Fixed" the carburetors, oddly enough it didn't run afterwards :P
I never really looked at the katana's, but now it's here I fell in love, what a cool looking bike!

That moped is cool as heck. My little scoot never fails to put a smile on my face after a lap or 3 (its not legal yet) around the block.

'65 Raleigh Roma. 78cc. The little I know of it is that it was built by Bianchi and called an Orsetto. Also sold as a redabged Raleigh Roma, and in the US, Wards Riverside. Mine was originally sold in the Virgin Islands and ended up in the USA.

Re your camchain problem. The fix is simply to use the cam sprockets which match the crank.
Your early 400/450 crank will use a roller chain, the GR a morse type chain.
AFAIK the cam sprockets will be a straight swap - just be sure to index them correctly when fitting them.

I facepalmed....the solution is so brilliantly simple!

My haybusa front rim came in the other day as I have said earlier, I loosely put the front fork together as a teaser

And the Nissin brakes I'll be using, I figured for the weight this bike is going to be I won't need 6 pot calipers

Small update, the front fork is in (sort of) and I have a "rolling frame", but at the moment it is most suitable to be ridden on train rails.
You can also see some goodies laying on the jack table; brand new brake disks and Vortex clipons (mounted).

Also I finally fixed my lathe, I measured 0.000mm deflection on the main spindle but I have a massive excentricity on the 3 jaw chuck, still have to fix that.

Re your lathe. assuming you have the jaws in the right slots....don't laugh, I've seen it done....The chuck looks to be a bolt on to a faceplate.
I sorted a similar problem for a friend by remachining the faceplate register where the chuck sits. Guaranteed to be concentric after that.
My friends lathe was an el cheapo Chinese one which was obviously not made to high standards....

GregT; The jaws are not the problem for now the whole body is mounted eccentric, think about a millimeter or two!
The previous ownes has been ****ing around with the mating surfaces of both the faceplate and the chuck so the problem might be there.
However I fear he drilled the mounting holes himself since there are six of them 3 look original, I fear those holes are not properly aligned.
