    Parrot Pliers

PARROT or BATTERY pliers...Thought I'd share this ..I have TWO of the exact same thing. These pliers will take out ANY STRIPPED SCREW as long as you can get a grip on it. such as carb bowl or top cover screws...
as you grip the screw and turn it CCW, the pliers actually TIGHTEN UP on it and it it WILL COME OUT.
If the screws are counter sunk then i use the pin punch method.

I did a quick search on google and did not see anything exactly like these. The one was my Father's who passed away in 1970 ( yeah i'm old) and the other I found at a flea market for 3 bucks. but they are INDISPENSABLE and I use them many times each week..

I'm a big fan of classic tools as well- never came across these. I will keep an eye out for a pair.

I did a cursory search of "parrot pliers" on fleabay, it popped up several different styles, new and vintage, of pliers that looked (and many that did not, but seem to be different styles) like the pictures you posted.

Nice, I like that, I have something similar for doing pipes, its about 18" and that never slips, it came in a box of old tools I bought years ago its cheap and not very nicely finished. These are similar.

Don't say can't, as anything is possible with time and effort, but, if you don't have time things get tougher and require more effort.

Around here those were called battery pliers. Used them quite a bit way back when. Not much need for them now-a-days.
