    Basics of Vacuum operated petcocks (V2)

    EDIT: I remade this post. The green will only show the active route the fuel is taking.

    Just wanted to try and help out where I can. I've got so much help and info from everyone here. Thanks!

    Applying a vacuum to the petcock from the carb(s) will move the diaphragm and move the (orange) plug from the passage to let fuel(green) pass by into the carb.
    {All info in this post is based on the 81 Gs450}

    On is the normal position with the arrow pointing down and is vacuum operated.

    Reserve is vacuum operated.

    Prime uses the same tube and port as reserve, but is not vacuum operated. It will bypass the plug and allow fuel to keep flowing. If you ever run out of gas, this will let you refill the boles without cranking the engine over a lot.

Working...
