All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Postings to the For Sale and Wanted sections will be deleted 90 days after the initial posting date if there has been no activity to the thread in the last 7 days. This is done to eliminate dead posts from the forum.

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Anybody got a nice 82/83 GS1100E 'train' headlight chrome ring for sale?

I know, not easy to find, but why not try. Mine has a dent, and my go-to chrome shop closed down. Seems when they come up, they are as much $ as my chromer would charge for a show finish, but you never know.

I might have one... If it's not dented like yours you can have it... I'll check on it in the morning.

Many thanks, I appreciate it. That trim ring and a scratch on the engine's side emblem (done by me in a cramped, bike-filled garage, d'oh) are the only blemishes I want to take care of, bike is running awesome, soon to be registered after a 20 year slumber on non-op status. Oh and that seat cover has the typical split in the front.

Is that black? If so, I did not know they came in that color. If it's not stock, it appears to be well-done. (y)

.
It's blue, paint was matched to its original paint side cover, Honda Pilot blue is a very close match. The photo makes it look darker. This is before. It wasn't awful but had dings, small dents, and scratches:

Not black, it's that dark, dank, skanky drab blue, like mine... By far the ugliest of the chain dr. GS1100 colors, even that old fugly black "81" GS1100E looked better... Dang it, why didn't I think to ask about that train light chrome ring?? I need one too... If anybody else might have one.

I actually prefer the blue, and have another painted set - painted over the red on that one. Different strokes, as they say.
