If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

For the dedicated gearheads,

I've seen those around the Internet for awhile now, not a cheap project by any means! Looks like fun though.

Now you can build a running v-8 engine on your desk beside your laptop.
Maybe I'm nuts, but this looks extremely enjoyable.
In another couple of decades we'll be remembering the V8s with a wisp of nostalgia.
Couple of decades after that, the kids will be asking, "What was a V8?"

Looks great!

What about the revs, hp & torque #s and that not unimportant number, cost?

Looks (sounds) like it could power a pretty nifty toy car. Just not as fast or powerful as electric. I hate electric vehicles!

Yeah, the only V-8 will be the tomato juice one they drink. LOL

Here it is, hold onto your hat!

The death of the V-8 has been prematurely reported before. I think it was 1981 when a front page article in the Wall Street Journal told about a NASCAR driver who was hoarding V-8 engine blocks in his garage. "Pretty soon," he said, "we won't be able to find them anywhere."

The next year, I bought the newly redesigned Z28 (Indy Pace Car replica). Many people assumed it had a V-6 under the hood. It had a 305 ci V-8 that was compatible with most of the go fast parts developed over decades for the small block Chevy.

Rob, think of this... Strongest Chevy 305 produced was the L69-305, 1983 thru 1987 rated at 190 HP... Same as the 1999 Suzuki Hayabusa also rated at 190 HP.

Doesn't much matter what you bolt onto a 305, it still has a very low compression ratio. This does allow force feeding via supercharger or turbo though, without it you don't have much to work with.

I would LOVE to do this but you can build a full scale V8 for about the same money. I've seen a lot of different kits, but they are all big money.

Sorry pilot, too many pages to read on this dang computer, I missed that page... I did see where Chevy had a 283 cid. in 1960 that made 315 HP, and a 265 cid. that made 225 HP back in 1956.... Back to poking at Rob, my opinion neither the Chevy 305 cid. nor the Chevy 307 cid. will ever be knows as one of Chevy's muscle engines. Now if you want to talk Chevy 302 cid. that will be a totally different conversation.

The Z/28 302 and the Corvette 327 (365hp) - my favorite Chevy engines.

When I bought my Z/28 in 1982 it was rated at 145 hp - the same as the Yamaha V-Max!

I had a friend whose dad had a 80-something Camaro with a 305 that had different heads, cam, intake and exhaust, and that thing ran 12 second quarter miles at 110+.

I had a speed shop work on my 305. Hearst 4 speed, free flow air cleaner, toss the catalytic converter, advance the timing and WOW! Big difference!

Totally agree, any small block Chevy, no matter its original state, can sure be upgraded to do a whole lot. Rob, did you forget the L84 327, 375HP ? Like you my favorites were also the 302 & 327, nothing wrong with the 350's, just something about the earlier ones

If we're talking about our favorite small block V8s, I'll throw in the 1960's Ford 289 Hi-Po. One of the most fun motors I've ever run (1966 Mustang GT with the Toploader).
