All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Well, it's been a month since I posted and no responses. Guessing nobody knows if one from a Kawasaki would work as well as any other models.

    Gel battery

Am I missing something here? If your bike is charging upwards of 15V, doesn't that indicate a problem with the reg/rectifier?

    fuel gauge

Looking for a fuel gauge sending unit, the one that goes inside of tank on '79 1000E. Anybody have one or else will one from a different tank work? Also wondered if one from a Kawasaki would work?

There is a new one submitted for March '26 but no one but me has commented on it. What gives?

    Rip off or not?

Another reason to avoid ALL dealerships (if possible). It seems they all have the power to separate a riders money into their own pockets.

    BOTM for March 2026

Another good looking example of a GS 850. Has been nicely put together from the boxes of parts.

Do you still own a GS?

I've had my current model since 2008. Before that I had a '82 GS 850G for over 10 years. Started out back in 1978 with a GT 550 I think it was.

1983 Suzuki GS 1100 ES For sale not mine

The seller is open to offers. Don't know what the least amount they would accept but give it a try. IMO, I would think $4,000 -- $4,500 would be in the right price range. If it were mine, I would want $4,500.

    Hello Old Friends!

Thanks for checking in PP. It's been too long since we have heard from you. Hope you are doing well.

    This will be interesting.......

For sure. Winter in Ne. can last into early May. I've lived there and can attest to the fact that April is not usually good for motorcycling.

    This will be interesting.......

It's the same here in Arkansas. I moved here to get away from the snow and winds of Nebraska and now we are in the path of the big one. Predicting 12-18" here and I have recently sold 2 snowblowers that I brought here from Ne. In the 3 winters I have been here, off and on, I've only seen a...

    Carb rebuild kit?

Agreed, you don't need no stinkin' kit. All you need is the o-ring set from Nessism. Plus a can of berryman's carb dip or a sonic cleaner.
