A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Has anyone put ‘80 750E pegs on ‘78 750E Solution found?

Modding up what I feel is a solution to my folding foot pegs. Piece of aluminum attaching the “”new” peg to the frame hole. Front of the peg attaches to the frame and the rear screw steadies the assembly. Seems solid yet will find out once I go on a test ride. If it seems to work out, I’ll pull...

Has anyone put ‘80 750E pegs on ‘78 750E Solution found?

Has anyone changed over to the folding foot pegs on your ‘78??Got some from a 1980 GS750 off eBay and the left side holes line up perfect but the right side is off may a 1/4” on the rear mounting hole. Would it be possible to weld the stock piece on ‘80 part so the mounting holes line up?? Just...

1978 GS750E, no electrical at all??

There is only a 15A on the ‘78. Even though the fuse tested good, I decided to replace it with new. Sure enough I have power. Obviously been awhile since I’ve worked on old bikes but we’re back on track.

1978 GS750E, no electrical at all??

On my 1978 GS750E. Received it last weekend w/20k miles. Hasn’t been run in a few years. Good shape, just barn dusty. Got my new battery. Still no lights, no click on start button. Tried kick start yet with the old varnish smelling gas not surprising. Pulled the carbs for ultrasonic cleaning...

crag antler is back on a GS

Hello all, after being off a GS and lurking in the background, 🤪🤪 I’m back here. Andy Barr did me a solid and brought me down Edbot’s ‘78 GS750E. Only 20k on it and only a little dusty. Cleans up nicely. Changed and gapped plugs, drained old gas out of tank and checked petcock and screen...

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

Just got back from a local 80 miles ride. Looking for a local twisty but somehow missed it. No harm, found some more decent twisty roads in SC. Nice living on the border of NC/SC. Finished it up on some twisties in Lare Lure. Getting close to 90F so time to put the shorty windshield on the ole...

    1976 xs650 non running $2400

My first street bike was a 1975 650. Man to have that bike again. Vibration of the twin split an Emco fairing, the highway bars and the front fender. Other than that, it was a fun bike. Never cared for when the Classics came out. Hate when someone will take one of the standard 650 and chop it...
