A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Shortly after midnight last night Mayfield Kentucky, about 20 miles from me had 110 Mile per hour wind as well as an Earthquake. If it isn't one thing, it's another........

This is wild! We just had a Magnitude 2.3 earthquake in the same area of western Kentucky that was under a Tornado Warning at the same time,

Quoted from a local weather page.....

Would you believe that within a 60 mile radius of Albuquerque there have been nearly 25 earthquakes in the last couple of months, all 2.5 magnitude or higher? Tornados are late to the party though.

Double whammy here too! The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally ended last weekend and now I'm at the Kool Deadwood Nights car show. Not sure how much more of this I can handle, gonna need a break before the Muddy Roots Music Festival on Labor Day weekend. Gonna be a long 1400 mile ride, glad I have plenty of time.

I live in Albuquerque five years and never had an earthquake. Did see snow there though.

If you look up seismic activity in that five year timeframe, I'll bet lots of small quakes were recorded around the state. In my 53 years on this planet the only time I actually felt the earth shake was the one time I visited San francisco. There was no looking around saying to each other, hey, did you feel that? The truck we were sitting in was bouncing around like a forklift was lifting and dropping it. It seemed to last for a minute or so. That was during a trip I took over summer break in high school around 1989. But I digress...

We just had one two hours ago near Grants measuring 4.1

Funny moment recalled:
My (now ex-) wife and I were in Mexico when a 6.0 quake came along.
She was angry with me for not being there to protect her as the vibrations caused her and her chair on the hotel balcony to move a bit toward the railing

Contrasting that, I felt nothing at all. At the moment it struck I was under water in the hotel pool. I surfaced to see the trees above me shaking, and thought the excavators next door to the hotel must have used an extra-large dose of the dynamite they had been using for two days......so I continued swimming.
