Your goal would be to get it in the position where Eric started his video; that side of the engine resting on that frame rail.

All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.
A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.
A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.
Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.
Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...
If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.
If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.
I think there are more brackets that are welded on the left side of a GS, making right-side removal much easier.Balance is the key. Position the jack so it can roll to the side you wish to remove the engine to clear the frame rails. Eric went out the right, I went out the left on my GPz. I don't think it really matters, since your engine is a copy of mine.
When I pulled the motor out of my bike, didn't seem like that big of deal. I placed a floor jack under the motor with a 8"x 8" piece of ply wood to support the motor. Pulled the motor mount bolts then jacked the motor up slightly, took off the right side motor mounts and pretty much just slide the motor out on to one of those small furniture movers. Took two of us about 20 minutes. Installing the motor was just the reverse.
Completely WRONG!! Didn't you listen to ERIC'S way?!!! Thanks HH for the reminder of why Mr. Narcissistic is banned. Jeepster is probably more spot on than anyone knows...![]()
I seem to have missed all the fun on my little hiatus. Someone care to explain why people got banned???
Eric was being a d!ck like always, so he got banned from the OT section.
Unable to express himself in the OT section, he proceeded to be a d!ck in other sections of the forum. Including starting d!ckish threads only designed to start trouble.
I guess Frank felt that was not very classy.![]()
People got banned because others started crap with them..and they subsequently proceeded to defend themselves and affront them with facts and basically called someone out.
Then the ones that got called out and didnt like it cried foul and ran to admin and cried because someone had spanked them on the forum.
I hat to put it that way, but once you get thru the layers of excuses and past the smoke and mirrors, thats what it all really boils down to..running to the recess lady instead of fighting your own battles.
Like daddy always said..If ya cant fight your own battles, then dont start any.
First, I dig a hole in the ground, to role the bike into.
Then I line up a bunch of tree branches to use as rollers.
Then I push the motor out of the side of the frame, and roll it along the ground.
Sooooo EASY! I swear I didn't steal It from the Egyptians!
