A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

my igniter box is bad. so im going to buy a dyna 2000. will that fix my problem? where are they cheapest at, i found one for 329 on ebay

check out Z1 enterprises...

they usually have the best price for these

Get a Dyna S. You don't need the 2000.

I'll second that. And you may as well pick up a set of the Green Dyna 3-ohm coils and a set of Dyna wires while you're at it. Do it all right the first time and you won't have any gremlins to hunt down later. Besides, you can get the Dyna S, coils and wires for less than $329 from Z1 and they'll be brand new.

Good luck.

One caveat to using the Dyna S is if your bike currently has digital advance; you will need to get a mechanical advance mechanism off an early model bike.

but my bike is a 1982 and the igniter is bad so i want to replace it. the dyna s doesnt replace it

FYI: Dyna S system replaces both the stock signal generators and the ignitor. Second generation Suzuki CDI has the spark advance built into the ignitor thus the need for the earlier mechanical advance mechanism as Chef mentioned.

So all i need is the advancer and the dyna S to replace my igniter and signal coils.

ok so i need the adv. u sent me that link. could some one send me a like to a cheap dyna s new. if the coils come with it thats could b/c im gonna order new ones

Sorry, not tryin' to hijack this thread but I have a general question about the Dyna S ignition change-over.

Is it better to stick with the stock ignitor/sig gen if eveything is working well, or is there an advantage to using the Dyna S??

I have an '82 GS1100G with dyna coils and the stock ignitor/signal gen intact. I happen to have a new Dyna S ignition laying around. I was going to put it on a previous bike, but never did. Would I need the find a mechcanical advance for this '82 GS1100G, 8 valve engine?

Thanks,

Mike
