    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

just revisiting this thread..gotta tell you Camaro..I love that 550! Very nice! I picked up a 550 roller last summer and was wondering what I was going to do with it! Very inspiring! Nice to see what can be done with them! Nice work!

thats a fine 850gl i have the same bike, year and every thing. wish mine looked that good. repainting her now. can i have your left hand controls. :D when i hget her all done ill post pics.
 
I really like it actually. I did it mainly because I painted the exhaust and didn't want to worry about it peeling off the headers. I shouldn't but I did it just in case. Also I think it look's awesome.

$350. Probably twice that in parts just to make it tuned and reliable.

Why are the handlebars uncomfortable? I'm new to riding and haven't been able to get mine running yet, but I imagined that the tall handlebars would be far more comfortable for distance riding.

The position is OK if you're sitting up behind a fairing or not going very fast, but the angle forces your wrist into an uncomfortable position to operate the controls. At highway speed without a big fairing, you'll want to have a forward lean. I find Daytona bars or lower to be about right for that.

+1 on this. the angle on those bars hurt my wrists and at highway speed with no fairing i was blown all around. On cruisers they work better because of the lower sitting position I think. I put superbike bars on mine and I really like them. I can sit fairly upright around town, and I can lean in when I'm on the highway. On bikebandit.com you can get just about any style you want for about 20-30 bucks.

Pretty bikes and pretty girls are the best! Your boy will love riding with you. My six year old's legs got long enough to touch the pegs and he worked to be able to put all his gear on all by himself. He was so excited when I was finally able to pick him up from school on my bike. My 4 year old is chomping at the bit, their mom is always terrified but she likes to ride too so can't argue.

Bars have been switched on both to the "1000G" bars. Buckhorns are tucked away for the purists.


Yes I do ride it and it does get dirty.

Not as nice as most of the bikes here but its not bad considering i baught it for 120$ from a drunk guy next door.. haha
