    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

  • In order to help others find info on a particular bike, be sure to put the year, make or model of bike that you are asking a question about, in the Topic Title. This will allow people to pass by posts they have no interest in.

Thanks again everyone for the kind words. I'm anxious to get it done, too. The seat is getting stitched up as we speak. Should be ready next weekend.

I got stomped once on the back by a moose. Between the shoulder blades. Fortunately, it didn't hurt that much. Later that evening, a large cow moose front kicked my buddy in the chest, which knocked the cap off his bottle of Grolsch. He flew the length of my pickup and landed on his back.

That was in Fairbanks. Sand Point seems like a cool place. I looked at some work at a gas compressor plant just outside of town to the west once.
 
Finally got the 400F buttoned up and polished out. Took close to 7 months, but I'm pretty happy with the results. Glad she's done..:D

Thanks you guys. I'm always really flattered by the opinions of the ones I respect most when it comes to doing these projects. I've seen so many very cool bikes on this site, and it's always inspiration to do the next one.
 
I haven't looked in a couple of weeks, but what progress! Besides the paint, which of course we have come to expect from you, I see a number of little details that push this resto/mod into the uniquely beautiful category.

I think your concerns about the scalloped edges of the seat pan should be allieved by the finished product. They are hardly noticeable, and with the smooth lines of the tail and pan, they are definitely not out of place.

The hoods over the brake discs are a nice touch...reminds me of something, but I can't put my finger on it.
 
I was hoping those blisters over the seat hinges would sorta fade away with the paint and the seat, and I'm really happy with the way it turned out. What I like the most is how, from a side profile, the end of the tail section has practically the same exact line as the back of the tank. Who'd a thunk a Ducati piece would look so right on a Honda of the same year. It was a small gamble that turned out better then I expected. The brake rotor guard is stock, but it does give it a bit of swoopines..(is that even a word..?) :D It looks like one of those aero bicycle racing helmets.

Sort of sums it up really... wow! Absolutely fantastic Larry! You have topped yourself again!

The whole bike flows so well front to back, and the details like the black line at the bottom of the tank, the black front mudguard support, and the black indicator mounts on the tail have really done an excellent job of allowing those things to blend in with the surrounding parts instead of standing out.

Just awesome as always and I love it! :clap:

Incidentally, I notice you have Avon RoadRiders on there as well, and I'm also a big fan of them!
