A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    how does this honing look?

The first 2 look good but the last one looks like it might need a little more. It might be the angle but I still see glazed spots in the cylinder. Is that pitting in the last one?

    Still Fighting Head Shake

It might be a long shot but I bought a new GT550 in 1972 that after about a week of riding started to have the same symptoms. Took it back to the dealer and everything in the front end was redone but did not help. Being new the front tire only had about 300 miles on it but it was rebalanced (...

    Anyone have forward control?

I have a set of these that are incomplete. I've been searching for a pic of the other side to see what the shift linkage looks like. I haven't decided to use them yet as they would have to be rechromed or painted first, plus make or find the missing parts.

    Fuel Injection Conversion?Possible?

A quick search found this one http://www.thegsresources.com/_forum/showthread.php?202848-GS1000G-mods-big-bore-and-fuel-injection&highlight=fuel+injection which I followed for a while, as while as several other discussions. None of them are particularly cheap and all require good electrical and...

Looking for oil temp sending unit 1982 gs 750e

I've had that picture for years and I suppose I should update it. Only one of the 3 is still alive. A cougar got one and old age the other. You should check continuity of the wire from the sending unit.

    GS750 Carb Help

If you are not in a hurry you can keep a watch also on ebay. I'm replacing the 29's on my 750 to bring it back to stock and found a set for $80 but it took 4 months of watching. You might also put up an ad in the wanted section. You never know you may find someone here who has a set cheap.

    rebuilding my 83 GS750e motor

This site http://www.alpha-sports.com/suzuki_parts.htm seems to have the best break down of parts and if you navigate to the crankcase page for your bike you will see that there are 3 different jets available depending on the location.

VM29 Smoothbores With Stock GS1000 Airbox - Possible?

The factory airbox should fit on the 29's. I am currently running a set on my '78 750 with a replacement k&n filter and everything slips together just fine.

    Age old troubleshooting problem

You should check the on/off switch on the handlebars. If that is not functioning it will not start even bypassing the solenoid. The starter button will not work either as long as that switch is off ( or corroded ). I've had two do the same thing because of corrosion. They just needed some...

    Age old troubleshooting problem

Sounds more like his handle bar on-off switch has gone bad ( corrosion? ) or possibly come unplugged while working on it. I have had both happen.

VM29mm smoothbores question about vacuum/overflow lines.

That is what I did except I just drilled a bolt with the correct thread size, cut off the head and used a jam nut to set the length then put my hose on it. It has been working fine since Apirl.

    No more racing for me

Glad to hear it went well. Follow the doc's orders and you should be fine to ride next summer. Mine was done in June they made me wait 3 months before I could ride and I only got out twice before the weather set in. Good luck and take care of yourself.

    750 Exhaust interchange

Ebay for the 100 pipes. The problem is I am adding Samsonite bags and they hit the muffler on the right side so I want to go back to stock or similar pipes to clear them. Nobody has a clue? I can't test fit because the 1000 exhaust has to be ordered and shipped and I can't afford to pay for something that will not fit.
