My new front master cylinder I got at the salvage yard that has the same double calipers on it that mine has so I am assuming it will work for my 1000

Asking for input please brakes are not a category to fudge with.

I also picked up a triple tree off an 1100 with a bottom mount axle . It has the forward rotation of the fork tubes here is the old one

Can anyone help with ID of front master cylinder needing a rebuild kit for it. The vin number is GS75X-707129.

MC looks like a Honda unit. It should work fine as long as it doesn't leak.
Do you have the lever for it also?

The lever wasn't with it any thought on how to identify the master to get a rebuild

Your right a honda unit now to determine the correct one, looks like in the 70 model for the cb500 . Now to determine the right one

The lever wasn't with it any thought on how to identify the master to get a rebuild

Look through lots of parts fiches from different makes/models from '76-86.
Unless someone here recognizes it as one that they had before.
You may have to whittle a little to make a lever fit that hits the plunger.

Luckily the lever I have from my old one hits it just fine. Just gotta drill out the mounting bolt holes to use the bolt that was on the lever. Gonna get it apart and measure all the parts see shock one looks the closest on microfiche and go from there

I got my electronic panel ready to install and hook up to my redone wiring harness .

Been working in the GS this past weekend . Been a little while due to way to many irons in the fire to get anything substantial done to any of them. So I took a day to make progress on the zuki. I did a lot of the frame fabricating and only thing I lack is a couple tabs welded on and a shifter location mount point. Then it will be take it all apart clean everything up and put a coat of paint on it all

I can see that i went the wrong direction for this forum, it is either cafe racer or stock. thats alright i will enjoy my misfit all the same .

Make it your own, nothing wrong with that.Better than rusting outside next to some fence where a lot of these "classic bikes end up.

long way along now

long way along now

well been a while since i updated this. didnt figure to many folks would be interested in the way i went so i just stopped. but i figured why not. i got plenty of pics or atleast i think so . so where I stopped i had cut most of the frame and redone the seat portion of the frame. Swapped sides with the shock holders and lowered the angle of the rear of the seat frame so it wasn't going to be straing across. Since then i have bought three tanks none of which fit the frame properly so i had to modify the frame for the tank. I have replaced all the bearings or will have them replaced when i put it back together. I have cut the springs off and replaced with PVC pipe for a stiffer ride. bought new blinkers, tail light, headlight, and today i got the frame and other odds and ends painted. Tomorrow i will finish up the paint and let it dry for a week before i reassemble it. I got new tires and changed my rims to tubeless rewired the electrical system to include all but two of the headlight relay mods, rearranged the way the battery sits in the bike and where the electrical components mount, I am going with a digital speedo, tach and fule guage register it also has idiot lights on it. So without further wait here is the pics from where i stopped to where i am now

my welder had some operator error so it didn't lay down a bead like i wanted so i had to bondo up the ugly. but i ground it off and tried again getting a better weld. Here is my frame modification i did so the tank would fit without worries. Oh also the paint store sold me some single stage and i never painted with it it went down great looked good only used reducer in it and when i went to put clear on top it wrinkled like dress shirt that was wadded up in the bottom of a closet. I had to sand it all off strip it what ever it took to get it off so i could start again.

Looks like you've been having a blast! I want that garage. That is some serious modding to the frame you did there, everything come out straight? Looking forward to the finished product.

It did all come out straight even though the frame looks crooked I had to bend that one side to miss the sending unit and petcock, but the measurements all came out right from the ones I had before I cut it. The shop doesn't belong to me it is my step dads he lets me use it.

is that another GS your buddy is building? Man, if that would have happened to me with the paint I probably would have had to get another frame after having taken a large hammer to the other one. is that seat pan made from the sign, cool idea.

That is why I had to get another tank..... Yeah I cut it out of an old aluminum sign I found buried under some leaves and pine needles. That is an 82 gs1100 gl that he is doing along side mine

My wife says she's a fan of the orange. Did you ride it with that smaller triple tree? did it ride any different as compared with the E forks in the L triple. I pushed my forks up through the triple just under an inch and it seems to enjoy cornering faster now. I have the L forks and L triple, curious how different it rides considering the slight rake in the frame.
