A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Can anyone tell me why me rear shock has so much space where it goes on the frame? I'm sure these are the stock shocks so I guess I shouldn't worry and just buy new shocks.

No worries at all...
shock absorbers are supposed to self-eject off of the bike at speed.
Thus placing the fender onto the tire to slow you down. ;)

It's missing a spacer. Most hardware stores should carry one.

My new progressive shocks came with a new spacer.

I'm not going to worry about it and order new shocks from Z1.
I'm not sure what weight springs to get though. I'm 6' and right at 200lbs.
I don't plan to have anyone ride with me but might put a rack on the back.

I've bought a few parts but still need a few things.

Thanks 5azzmonkey for the help on getting my SS brake lines.

Picked these up for $30.00

It will be a little while before I put these on.
GSXR1100FORKS.jpg

The upper part of the triple is off the same bike as the forks (93) but the lower is from a 96 and don't seem to be the right size.
I'm guess these forks are 52 top 54 bottom but the lower from the 96 is 56 bottom.

It will be a year or more before I do the conversion bonanzadave. I just bought new tires, sprockets and chain so will ride it till those need replacing first. I'll keep you in mind when I take them off.

Started doing a little polishing. This is my 1st time so it's not the best but it's looking better each time I try.

i see at some time the previous owners have tried reinventing the wheel on that oil filter cover. Why do people do this when suzuki provided the means to put a cooler on it from day one by putting the gallery plugs either side of the cover
:confused::confused:

My oil filter cover has the plugs for a cooler, leading me to believe it either had one in it's past life or it's a 1150 cover.
