A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Well that was good news and bad news.Bad news is the fuel T is leaking like a sieve so it looks like I need one of those aluminium T's with proper O rings. The good, nay GREAT news is that she runs, rather nicely to.VERY pleased with how quiet the Dunstalls are,a bit less than stock but not much. With a carb sync and back of the air box installed she should be running like a top:cool::applause::triumphant::cheerful::encouragement::dancing:!

Will be trying for collector plates today or tomorrow, they want pics so here's what I printed:

Don't ask for the last one but they'get it anyway.

Looks great Greg. I've always been partial to the red Skunk. I'd say it's a shoe in for the plate........

Thanks Garth.Don't think I'll have much problems getting a Collector plate either but with ICBC you never know.:black_eyed:I love how the red turned out to,I just stare at it sometimes.

We put in for the Collector plate today.Should hear back soon I'd guess:cool:

No word on the Collector plate yet:(But my aluminum fuel T and crossovers arrived from Z1 so I'll be pulling the carbs this weekend;)

Now I need float bowl gaskets, lost one and broke another. No word on the collector plate either:hypnotysed:

Went to Kenco to see if they had a VM gasket, they didn't:(But the bowl gasket is pretty simple so they gave me some gasket material to make one. That little piece saved me a ton of time and money!:victorious:Now to get them back in:DStill no word on the Collector plate:hurt:

Just about forgot to do NVR2OLD's trick to keep gas from lifting the paint.First sand the paint all the way round the filler neck.

Then apply a coat of epoxy around it.This is JBWeld but other stuff would do.Did forget on the 750,anybody guess what happened:-\\\

Well my collector plate finally got in.Got my first ride in under it's own power but I have fueling issues. The fuel line to the petcock is to short but that's an easy fix.Think the vacuum line might be to so I'll throw a new one at that.then I wanted the choke holder screw just a bit tighter.......so it broke while I was tightening it:pDid a bit of a bodge repair with a 4mm SS screw some electrical tape and washer.

Well it seems when I got the new spark plug caps I put them on like I thought they'd be instead of checking the manual to see how they should be:rolleyes:Now that thy're on the right leads it runs way better, who uh thunk:chargrined:Then out of the blue #4 starts gushing gas, lots of it.the it quit, think there was something between the new float needle and seat. Now that it runs better there's a new problem. It idles at 1800 RPM with lots of slack in the throttle cable and the adjuster backed right off.Looks like I have to pull the carbs to do a bench adjust like I should have to begin with:oops:

Adjusted the screws on the slides up to the top to get the slides down, while the tops where off I put my Carbtune to good use and synced the carbs.Fiddled with a few things then off for her maiden voyage around Sooke. She runs just GREAT!!Thanks to Rob for selling me this

And to Dale and Chuck who helped me with doing the twin disc conversion and lots of advice on the way:cheerful:You guys are the best!It HAS been a long road but she now looks and runs fantastic.

Got a stand pipe for the original petcock from Steve Murdoch.Put it in ASAP before I lost the thing again!Really happy I got it in to because the 83 750 petcock didn't really work.Such a little thing makes a huge difference .Thank you to Steve to!:DThose cheap "moose antler"mirrors are gone to,the mirror on the right side decided to part company with it's housing early on my first ride.Had a set of OEM hanging around with rusty heads, wire brushed them off and painted them as a for now till I get these http://www.ebay.ca/itm/1-Pair-Unive...rs-Long-Stem-8mm-M8-Bolt-Chrome-/151513985533

That bike turned out great! You should be very proud. Nicely done, man.
Huh?What was that?Sorry I was busy staring at my pics;)The paint work isn't to the meticulous painter standards but I'm getting better,I think.
I another note I got a crash bar for it from a member here who thought it was for a 1000 chain drive.Well it don't fit mine,by enough it can't be wiggled around to fit.Of course I found this out after having a friend weld in filler for some rash on it.Then sand blasting the chrome and powder coating it.

Went out for a bit longer run today, there are now 165 km's on the clocks that where zeroed when I got them. This is at the Patricia (Pat) Bay seaplane base.About as far as you can get from Sooke and still be in the Victoria area.Ran quite nice but needed some torque wrench TLC that it got when I got home.

This bike doesn't get out as much as my daily rider 85 GS750 so I'm still on a learning curve with it.After may years of running either CV carbs or EFI it's a bit different using the VM manual slide cabs. The enricher seems somehow counter intuitive to me. Always seen to be moving it the wrong way ::)Got to get it out more!
