    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I bought the bike used and all the previous owner could say is that they are aftermarket carbs with a stage 3 jet kit. The bike is running rich.

They are marked mikuni kogyo.
On the left side of the bike the markings on the carb are
4-90
20

On the right side of the bike they are
b8

Both those markings are on the flange for the intake manifold.

I would like to know what kind of carbs they are so that i can get it jetted properly.
 
If you post a picture or two, I am 100% certain that someone here will know exactly what they are. ;)

During that time period The VM29's were the performance carb to use Idetified by a large nut on the float bowl to access jet changes

i will get pictures when i get home.

I recieved a text from the guy that sold it to me last night claiming that they are 50 mm mikuni. Then another one this morning correcting him self saying they are gs1100 carbs.

It has pods. And a 4 into 1 exhaust.

That looks exacly like them. Those are the vm29's?

What would be a good starting point on tuning for the 4-1 exhaust and the pods? Or is there something else that would cause it to run rich?

No - they are standard VM26s. You need to strip them right down, clean them properly (there's cleaning and there's cleaning) and look at what jets you have in there already before doing anything else

Thats what i was told by the previous owner, but so far the only thing he told me that was true about mods is that it has a kerker 4-1.
 
Your PO knows nothing if he told you anything other than stock.These are close to what is on an 1100
