My question is can i throw out the stock regulator and rectifier thing and use one from an 1985 yamaha three wheeler?? The three wheeler had no battery it was kick start, but yet the motor was able to run the coil and lights with no battery when it was running. If our bikes werent electric start could they do the same? One time my bike wouldnt rev up as if it had a rev limiter ...i looked and i forgot to connect the + back on the battery, seemed like the charging wire couldnt even supply the coils alone after a certain R.P.M.. .How come they have such poor charging systems? Im hoping if i use the parts from the three wheeler the gs will charge better. What do you think about this?
