A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Well the flexy fender finally gave it up yesterday morning on the way to work. It was too thin from the start and I should've reinforced it. So I put the fender I had on my other chopper on and took the time to shorten the sissy bar a bit.

Flexy fender.... haha I like it :D

The name that is, not the fact it gave out on you! That would've made an interesting trip to work...

I think I like the shortened sissy bar better too...

Also, any chance you could get a detail pic of your Dynatek plate installed? I'm curious to see if there's any difference in clearance to where the oil pressure switch is...

I like it shorter too. I can't wait to get this other tank on there... It looks so much better

This is about as detailed as my phone will do

About to go for a ride... Hopefully I'll return with cool pics

Mate that's perfect, thanks! About the same clearance as mine too.

Looking forward to cool pic's :D

Gah can't catch a break... So on the ride yesterday the bike kept blowing the main fuse... Seems the 40 year old ignition switch I stole from my ts400 is the main suspect.

But, I have bigger problems... at some point yesterday the bike stopped charging, and also something is wrong with the starter clutch. I'm hoping the charging issue is just loose connections. But I won't know what it is until I get the starter issue fixed.

I got some ok pics yesterday, but I forgot the camera at home, so I'll have to upload them tomorrow.

Bugger! Hopefully they should be nice easy issues to sort at least... then you can be on your bike again... haha :D

Good stuff! Nice building across the street there too...

Forgot to ask if you're planning on putting the front brake back on or are you happy with just the rear drum?

I'm not going to put a disc on up front, but if I switch to spoked wheels anytime soon I'll probably try to build a brake stop bracket on the springer... but for now the rear brake stops me just fine. I just ride a little differently when I don't have a front brake...

Cool, just curious... it only just dawned on me in that pic that it was missing...

Aaaah yeah der... forgot about that! (Just picture me slapping myself in the forehead, no smiley for that!)

So I Drained the oil and pulled the side cover to investigate why the starter wasn't engaging and this is what I found:

The bolt holding te rotor on the main shaft had back way out and the rotor wasn't even on the taper anymore, which explains why the starter wasn't engaging AND why it stopped charging yesterday! Awesome. Got it fixed up, filled with oil, started right up and was charging great, so what to do? Test ride!!!

Hahaha thanks for that! :D

Aaah that certainly explains it! Did you put some loctite on it as well?
